when i was coming home tonight from school i was running my car kinda hard. I came close to redline in 2nd and 3rd, then i skipped 4th because i didnt want to go any faster. so i went to put it in 5th and my shifter kinda shook and made a funny noise. It wasnt grinding a gear because i know what that sounds like (it makes me cringe to think about that noise), it sounded like it came from my shifter itself. My first guess would be motor mounts are wore out and when the engine is rocking (like at higher rpms) its messes with the alignment of the shifter cables, and causes it to not go into gear smoothly. btw it shifts fine during normal driving.

idk how to explain the sound...less of a crunch and more of a vibrating sound...sry i cant explain it any better. Its done it before like running it hard and going from 2nd to third, but i dont remember the details of that event as well, that one might have been my fault anyway. But the thing im talkin about from my original post i tried it again and it happened again. im sure it wouldnt hurt to replace the motor mounts anyway
