ok so i was going to my buddies house and the car died while in motion. pulled out the spark plug tester and i'm getting no spark. i'm curious how do you check if the timing belt snapped? also how would i know if it was my dizzy?

I had no idea a car dying could be all these other things. Mine was doing that and I asked for a jump, died again within seconds as I began to drive. So I figured it was the alternator. Changed it, didn't have that problem again. But what the fellas are telling you, are also things to consider. I guess that is why it is always important to diagnos a problem before assuming it is 1 thing and trying to fix that. In case some of you out there do not fix your own car and take it to shops. Which there is nothing wrong with that at all by the way. I used to do that until I got ripped off but not everyone is dishonest.
