You all may or may not no about the history of the blue 3sgte that I bought...Well I now have the black 5sfte and my boyfriend Jim and his brother joey are working on re swapping the blue car with the st205...well instead they bought a wrc st205..The process has just started and its going very smoothly..presure2 and alltracman98 are standing by to help work on the car and help us out since they are the brains to the celica. Pics below with more to come as the process continues.
What do you all think? Ill be taking new pics very soon bc these were snapped quick the day we got the engine. This post has been edited by supershannon77: Jun 26, 2009 - 6:40 AM -------------------- |

back on topic.
we got jims new clutch disk in last week, and wow, what a diffrence between the 2. the new disk is an ACT stage 3 disk, 6 puck sprung hub. his old disk was a spec stage 2 or 3, i cant remember at the moment. some pics, and notes about the 2 as we go. first, the 2 disks, flywheel side up. first, the obvious. the ACT disks springs are much larger, and the 6 pad disk, VS the specs smaller springs, and segmented disk. now the problem i had with the spec disk. this is a close up of a spring on the flywheel side. notice how the little tabs that hold the spring in place are VERY worn, and are breaking off in little peices...this is the better of the 2 sides, wait till you see the other side. this clutch only has a couple thousand miles on it, tops. IMO those springs were on theyre way to poping right out. i will be sending these pics over to spec as well, to see what they have to say. now a pic of the ACT spring (flywheel side) for refrence. notice how the "tabs" are much thicker, and seem to be made in a much stronger fashion in general. now the PP side. first, the 2 disks together. now a closeup of a spring on the pressure plate side. again notice the damage to the spring "tab" the ACT version: and one more pic of the spec disk, just for the hell of it. now that we have just about everything we need, im starting to tear into everything and get it all preped to go into the bay. i will have to drill and tap 2 holes for the shifter arm in the LSD tranny jim got, the mounting bosses are there, but no holes, so i will do that tommorow, and continue with the other engine bay, and motor prep stuff i have left to do till the flywheel is done on monday or tuesday, and if all goes as planned the motor will go in next weekend as long as jenn dont have the baby before then!! -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
