I just Installed my New Rear Speakers and as I finished putting the speakers in. I thought I'll do a write up so....
Tools and wire crimps (but not needed if your using a soldering iron) New Speakers 6.5" Time: about 2 hours First thing you have to do is remove the rear seats. Easier to move if you take out the parcel tray, unclip the back rest, so it folds down. Undo the velcro push the carpet in the boot/trunk back as you need to undo the (x4) buttons (green circle top, and purple bottom) hold the flap under the seat up and undo (x4) bolts (Gold circles) on the bottom of the Back rest, push the back rest down into the seat so they clear the clips next to the bolts (another view) DO NOT REMOVE THE MOUNTING IN THE MIDDLE FOR THE BACK REST (this holds and moves the Back rest up and down, its unnecessary to do so, and could put the back rest out of alignment ) Now with those out the way we can remove the seat, you might want to use a screwdriver to prey up the seat, as there are (x2) clips holding it down, push the seatbelts through the hole, then just lift the seat up over the mounts. Now the easier part; remove the speaker cover and panel. Remove the (x5) bolts in the green circles Remove the srews in the gold circles (the green ones remove the speaker mounting, you could now go out and buy some speakers with this, making sure that the speakers will fit ) Install & wire up your new Speakers (you might need smaller screw heads so hold the speaker, but these could come with the speaker) (CHECK YOUR SPEAKERS GO) Then start putting the panels back in. The rear panel has to go in behind the boot panel, watch out for your seatbelts, then push the panel in so it 'snaps' into place Screw that bottom screw in last (in the above picture) so the panel doesn't wobble and make noises Then put the seats back in* (apply some pressure and it will 'snap' into place) make sure you bring your seltbelts back through the hole *(Always remove cats from your comfy seats before install) (another view) then clip back your parcel tray back in Enjoy your New Speakers installed by you This post has been edited by Rusty: May 15, 2008 - 9:58 PM -------------------- |
