I am no mechanic, far from it. I like the look and have read reviews on the 6th gen celica and that is why I am interested in buying one.
The car I am looking at is a 1995 GT-S (Canadian) and has 322 000 km on the body and 80 000km on a replaced engine. In Canada the Celica came in ST(1.8L) and GT(2.2L) models. The engine that was put in is a 2.0L JDM engine that the dealer says is from a '95 celica from Japan. Does this sound right? I mean could this cause problems since it isn't the exact same engine it was built to take? Also, what repairs should I expect to have to make with a 6gen celica of this age and mileage? THANKS! |

theres a vin tag on the front of every toyota engine right next to where it meets the transmission, that'll tell you the year of the engine (10th digit) and you can also determine what vehicle it came from which will tell you if its a 3sfe or 3sge for sure.

The dealer gave me the vin but it was suppose to be for the body. Perhaps he has the vin of both the body and the engine. |
