After driving my celica around for the past couple weeks I have come to the conclusion that I need more power in the car. I was thinking of doing some bolt-ons such as an axle-back exhaust, short ram air intake, and maybe a throttle body spacer. One other thing I just found is a speed chip that is supposed to add a great deal of power.....and maybe a cheap supercharger
the chip This is a picture of thhe supercharger that I found... It seems pretty legit and yes I do realize it isn't going to really give me 100hp....but I figure between these four mods that I would be able to net about 100hp. I am pretty excited to see what the celica can do with all the added power it will have, if anyone has experience with these mods advice would be great...... Thanks in advance for any helpful info Sorry I was kidding about all that stuff...what I was really going to say was it is time for an engine swap..... Several days ago I just got my 4th gen 3SGTE (ST215) to my buddies garage. Got a pretty good deal on it because the seller didn't have the ECU with the engine, so I need to track that down. I have heard the wiring is difficult...but I figure it can't be that hard and I have changed a few lightbulbs before plus my friend has done a b16 into a honda civic and he did the wiring for it himself and said we should be able to figure it out. The bad news is my quaife lsd is still about 3 weeks out, so I might run the S54 tranny for a few weeks before getting the real E153 in. Stay tuned for updates.. hi, here are some oem parts that are interchangeable :
-pistons -connecting rods -crankshaft -exhaust camshaft -cam gears -timing belt -water pump -Intake manifold (bolt pattern are the same) -fuel rail and injectors from ST215 are 540cc and top feed, so they have the same output rating as gen3, but they are top feed instead of side-feed(gen3) -exhaust manifold (same bolt pattern)(but the 4th gen exhaust manifold is casted with the turbine housing) -MAT sensor (manifold air temp) -MAP sensor -crank pulley -oil pans -oil pickup system -knock sensor -ac compressor -alternator (I need to verify this) I need to look at valves and springs to see if they are interchangeable or not. I'll look in my Toyota EPC later. Hope to help! sam |
