Well guys. I'm done with this engine and tranny. Finally. It took what...five years? I achieved what I wanted. Today my tuner was messing around and he wanted to go to the dyno, so we went without hessitation because unplanned things go great for me. We ran like nine times. First pass was a stupid 133 WHP at 8 PSI, LOL. Highest was almost 220 WHP and 188 ft/lb of torque at 15 PSI. I'm leaking like crazy from the turbo manifold. I need to get a new gasket for it and for the wastegate. I settled for a tune of 192 WHP and 177 ft/lb of torque at 11.75 PSI. I could've gotten 200 WHP at this setting if I didn't have that boost leak, and I need to iron a few things out. Anyway, that's it. It roasts the tires like a mad man so I need new tires also. You wanted a 200 WHP auto 7A-FTE and you got it. Took a long time but I finally got around doing it.
Next week I'm going again after I sort out a few issues with the car. This post has been edited by OOBE: Nov 1, 2008 - 10:36 PM -------------------- |

Thanks, guys. It really feels good to finally get to this level. It might not be a lot of power, but it was my first car and as we know, we didn't have a lot of faith in this engine, and we guinea pigs spent more than twice of what a 3S-GTE swap costs, but it's too late now to regret it. At least we've learned and that's worth it. Power-wise, I find it more fun than the 530 RWHP my Supra had. The powerband was so linear, it wasn't too impressive. It felt more like a modded Porsche 996TT than a Supra. Only sign of going fast was the speedo climbing like crazy and the head glued to the headrest but it didn't have the wheelspin and torque steer the Celica has, he-he.
The turbo is a Turbonetics T3/TO4B. I'm not sure of the compressor specs. It's not the original one. It was originally a TO4E but I bought a smaller compressor housing and wheel. The exhaust is a T3 .48 stage 3. Intercooler is a 500 HP Yonaka. I don't know the model number. I bought it used from my buddy. The EMS is a GReddy eManage blue. I have Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX 560cc injectors and a Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump. I'm going to get 3" downpipe and piping, because this one is 2.5" but it's crush bent and they did a sloppy job 5 years ago and I've yet to change it. Even with my wideband taken off the downpipe, I can feel the engine looser just through that little hole. As you can see in the graph, it's taking forever to build boost so there's more power hidden once I sort out a few gremlins. Wastegate is a 1st gen Tial 35mm with open dump. Completely stock internals (replacement cheapy pistons and rings...can't remember the brand) with a new stock two layer metal gasket. I'm using a new Civic radiator. I have to iron a lot of things that are wrong with the engine so I can get more power. You know...old mistakes from the initial "kit". When the engine breaks, I have a 5S-GTE in a '94 Celica GT convertible to swap in, he-he. But I'll probably do a manual tranny swap first on the 7A-FTE to see how it feels.
