Hey!
The mechanic odometers look really, old. You know. The digital meters in new cars is a LOT prettier than the odometer we got in our cars. Is there a possibility to do a swap? Someone maybe have tried this? |

I'm not looking at digitizing the Dashboard but I am looking at putting in some digital guages in the 2nd DIN under my 1 DIN Radio.
I'm looking at putting in a Volt meter (Seven Segment Led showing 99.99V) and an Ammeter (Showing 99.99A). I also want to modify the Circuit to show me Oil Temperature and Oil Pressure (999.9 Degrees and Bar/PSI.) I have the Circuit for Voltmeter and I will use this with a Shunt to get me Amps (Car can go over 60 Amps and most meters are up to 10 Amps) I have chosen the & segment LED's as I aim to place them behind a Smoked Perspex so it looks black with only the Digits showing through. I have also found the Circuit to out put to LCD's but then you would require a back light to see it at night. If any one has information on how the Stock Temperature and Oil Pressure Sensors work (Volt per Degree, Resistance per Degree) I would greatly appreciate any information. If I cannot use the Stock ones I'll have to Purchase After market Sensors. I'll be starting a thread Soon on upgrading the Electrical System (Big 3 plus more), Sound System and Digital Gages. Also look on the web there are hundreds of electronic projects out there for the Car. (Dome Dimmers, Digital Ganges, LED Rev Counters just to name a few that I have looked at.) I'll also tell you in my Thread what Circuits I have tried and how good/Bad thy are until I get what I'm happy with. -------------------- WWSideWinder - 1996 - 3S-FE - Auckland New Zealand
