im alt the last parts of pulling my engine was wondering it it is earier to just unplug everything and avoid having to pull the whole harness through the firewall or do it the way alldata is describing it which is unbolting from the firewall and pulling the harness with the engine

Maybe you mean the JDM 3SGE, in which case you really wouldn't be losing a whole lot of power. The 3SFE is usually found in the states in Rav4's and the like. It all depends on your goals, but if you're looking for a plug and play option then another 5SFE would be your best choice.

When putting the tranny back on you should replace the clutch and throwout bearing and have your flywheel resurfaced.

Agreed i did the same when switching my engine. Makes the difference.
