I have a 97 gt 5 speed and I would like to know how many rpm's your motor is turning at around 70 mph? Mine is close to 4000rpm which seems weird to me. The 5th gear in my celica seems like the 4th gear in my moms 1999 4cyl 5spd camry so it is a change to me. I would appreciate an estimate of rpm's around 70 from guys with gt's

Hey, it happens lol. I think I started a for sale thread in general discussion once haha. As far as it hurting gas mileage, I'm not so sure. My car may just be an anomaly (I think it already is- it's the only Toyota in the world that never seems to want to run right kindasad.gif) but my LIVES at 70. If I drive at a constant 60, I get 26 or 27 mpg. But if I'm cruising at 70, same conditions, I get 30. I have NO FREAKING CLUE how that works out, since it's nearly a 1,000 RPM jump, but my car just likes 70 a lot more. So do I so I'm not complaining tongue.gif
