this is for all you gadget/gizmo techs..

i've waited nearly 8 months for this.. and it finally has arrived! it wasn't easy to get it either as i had to pre-order it and drive to the US to pick it up since it's not available here.
this here is a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1a running on Windows Mobile 6.1. i think this is truly 'the best' phone i've ever used and it incorporates a lot of today's leading edge technology.. i would say it's better than an iPhone (in terms of entertainment, features, capability, connectivity). but 2x the price. for realz. anyway i'm not gonna ramble on with all the specs but here are a few pics for your enjoyment.

keep in mind all the pics were taken from my previous cameraphone so the pics aren't really clear.

6gc in full desktop (800x480 pixels)

and the new integrated FaceBook Panel is the $IHT!~

my 3G wireless speed:

almost faster than wifi!

and some other eye-candy photos:

i've had it for 4 days now and i alreadyloaded it with tons of 3rd party apps. one reason why i like WinMobile is the huge 3rd party support, it's the Honda Civic of operating systems.... lol) biggrin.gif. to top it off, my russian coworkers will more likely hook me up with some free apps wink.gif

anyway so far, i finally finished configuring some settings to allow:

-3G internet tethering from my laptop through Bluetooth (configuring a bluetooth personal area network is simpler now than the old school way of assigning outgoing COM ports and creating dial-up initialization strings)
-streaming online radio anywhere (with 3G/HSPA, i can stream 128kbps quality music fairly easily).. no more need for me to search, download, & transfer music anymore.
-YouTube videos stream fine (without chops) in my Opera browser (mobile version).
-stereo audio plays fine with my bluetooth headphones. i can view my phonebook, recent calls list, callerID through my headphone's display which also supports media remote controls (FF, Rew, Play).
-i have it synced to my work's exchange server (automatic sync of e-mail, contacts, & calendar through my service provider).
-folders on my laptop sync with folders stored in the phone (no need to manually transfer them) wirelessly through bluetooth syncing.
-aGPS works fine, but without a memory card, there's nowhere to store the maps.. i'm out of internal memory! so i'm stuck with GoogleMaps for now.. until my 16gb comes in.

best of all, i don't get billed for any of this. my work pays for it all smile.gif i only pay long distance and roaming charges whenever i travel.
