^ Yeah that...not only does the brake have to be applied, but there's also a locking mechanism that won't allow you to shift into reverse or park when the car is in motion.

^ Yeah that...not only does the brake have to be applied, but there's also a locking mechanism that won't allow you to shift into reverse or park when the car is in motion. FAIL FAIL FAIL Not on a 4Runner with old shifter handle bushings. Anyway you didn't have to have your foot on the brake to shift into reverse. Park, yes, and to release it from park, yes.
