Someone posted this on mr2oc and I though I would pass it along. It basically states how and why injection works, as well as the meth content of some of the popular washer fluids.
Its a good read for anyone thinking about setting this up on their car.

once again lagos, you provide us with the bread we need!! so should i wait to dyno tune my car unitl i get this water meth injection kit? i was hoping to get it dyno tuned soon after i bring it back from GA.

You can go either way with it, but I personally dont like the idea of relying on the meth to go outside the limits of your injectors.

The water/meth injection is a great tool and is almost becoming a must on any turbo vechile for its "intercooling" effect and its abilty to decrease the chances of knock/preignition. You dont HAVE to tune the water/meth injection to see gains from it, as gains are seen from its intercooling effect. Another benfit of the Water/meth inection is the abilty to run more boost as the water/meth injections acts as race gas during injection. Califcarm over on Mr2oc.com was only able to hit about 17 on 91 octane, but with the water/meth injection, he was able to run 20psi.

But there are of course more gains to be had by tunning the water/meth injection by running a "leaner (12.0-12.5)" AF ration, more ignition advance, and more boost to tune for. The only problem with doing this is, what happens when you pump fails, or the nozzle gets clogged, etc. You WILL blow you motor if tuned for high boost with added igntion advance, and a lean 12.0-12.5 AF, if you have injection failure.

What will you be tuning this with, and on what engine?

that makes sense! i want to be on the safe side and tuning lean is something i have been wanting to stay away from. im willing to loose a couple hp for that.
i will be tuning this with a greddy emanage blue on a 4th gen with upgraded turbo

You want power but have no money. That's a problem.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.
