Well yesterday i took off my wheel to balance it and when i attempted to put it back on i stripped a stud and a lug(my fault)...so i went to Kragen and bought a stud and bolt for like 4$..This is my how to...
tools: breaker bar/air gun ratchet assortment of sockets new stud and and bolt ![]() 1)first u jack up the car and take off what wheel that needs replacing... ![]() 2)You take off the 4 bolts that hold the caliper on(my bolts where put on with about 999999 pounds fo torque so it took me like 20 mins to get them off. ![]() this picture shows the back with that presses the brake pads has already been removed... 3) You insert 2 bolts into the holes on the disk and tighten them until them until you cant tighten anymore..if the disk hasn't popped off by now then get a piece of wood and a hammer and put the wood on the back on the disk and hit the wood so you don't damage the disk..hit the disk and then tighten, hit, tighten, hit, tighten, ect until the disk pops off ![]() 4)Position the back on the bad stud in the margin..then hit the stud with a hammer and it should pop out... ![]() 5)Put your new stud in place and pound it in with a hammer and some kinda bar...(i used the ratchet extension) ![]() 6)redo the process making sure to re tighten everything...you don't want to drive down the road, take a right turn and have ur caliper pop off ![]() This post has been edited by CelicaST_CALI: Dec 20, 2008 - 9:30 PM -------------------- BANNED. for life, you moron.
