Ok guys so after about 1 and a half years of researching and saving money i now have enough knowlegde and money to complete my swap. I will cover everything i go through during my process of making my car 3sgte powered. Tomorrow (Tuesday July 11) is when i am going to buy my ST185 front clip from a company nearby. I will take many pictures and write many times to kep you guys posted. I would like to thank everyone who has done a write up on thier previous 3SGTE swap, this information was golden in helping me know what it takes and how to correctly do a 3SGTE swap. Hopefully i can have everything done by the end of july. I am getting a good friend of mine to help me complete the swap. If anyone nearby the area wants to come check out the action PM me. My fingers are crossed that everything will work fine. I have compression numbers on the clip and leakdown %, I also have pictures of what the clip looks like.
I have a 1995 Toyota Celica GT White Hatchback 2.2L DOHC So here are the pics of my car as it sits now... Here are some pictures of the clip im going to be getting... ST185 3SGTE front clip Wish me luck guys!!! This post has been edited by CelicaGT04: Nov 13, 2008 - 11:54 AM |

Maaaan, do i let this thread get thrown back into the cob webbs LOL! Well heres a small update, just so i dont fall off again, but its just been too cold outside to work on the motor (pretty lame, but when your used to 80 degrees, 50 makes my hands feel brittle LOL) . Anyways, when i was trying to remove the cam shafts to look at the valves and lifters, i broke a cam shaft bolt (if thats the correct name). I have oredered a couple from the local Toyota dealership and am currently awaiting its arrival. As i wait for the arrival of the bolts and other parts that i ordered , all i can really do is take apart my car in its current state (still sitting and collecting dust) and really see why my 5s siezed. Thats all i have for now guys, but everything is coming along SLOWLY, but still coming together none the less.
Hopefully when i get back into town from this christmas break i can really begin to piece the motor back together. I will have pics up soon of the most recent progress. PS. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! |
