Since I'm a cheap SOB, I'd like to know if I'm getting the right stuff before I buy. I'm looking to go 720p for my PS3, connecting to the TV with an HDMI cable and to the 7.1 surround with a digital optical audio cable, if that's the right one. I'm going generic, and as far as I know there's no special version of an HDMI cable necessary?

And one of these for the surround part? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16882339059 Thanks people. |

Now that you mention it...you might be onto something. The TV is a 42" Panasonic Viera and the surround system is also Panasonic, the receiver does have HDMI inputs. It's only a CD/DVD player, so it wouldn't have HD Dolby then? I know for a fact is has regular Dolby support...
I'll get back to this thread when I check up tonight. Is there a difference between the one I posted earlier or the one you posted now? The other one was only $4.99. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16812189166 This one should work if my receiver is compatible as well.
