Since I'm a cheap SOB, I'd like to know if I'm getting the right stuff before I buy. I'm looking to go 720p for my PS3, connecting to the TV with an HDMI cable and to the 7.1 surround with a digital optical audio cable, if that's the right one. I'm going generic, and as far as I know there's no special version of an HDMI cable necessary?

Came just about half an hour ago...plugged it in, works perfectly. Best 5 bucks I've spent in a while. Imagine my surprise when it loads and gives me a maximum resolution of 1080p!
GTA IV looks great, the overall image is the same, but the details that weren't there before are AMAZING. Draw distance looks improved as well...trying out GHWT and COD4 in a second.
