the days are counting down to my impending swap... and like everyone else i wanna keep an eye on boost /vacuum, airfuels, oil pressure.
simple solution would be the a pillar gauge pod, well i hate how that looks, too much of an attention getter... i want something clean, inconspicuous, and functional/ without grabbing the attention of state troopers that wanna pull me, over or crackheads that wanna put a brick through my window. so, over the past 2-3 months i've been gathering spare interior plastics so i can mod the hell outa them and still be able to return to stock if i dont like the look... taught myself how to fiberglass with the advice of the D-man, without him id still just have an idea and no way of pulling it off. time now for crappy cellphone pics!!! also, id like to again thank the D-man, as well as miss supershannon, richee3, and gatar11 and as a small side note, i fuggin hate sanding because of this project! and now in primer after lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of sanding, and re sanding, and re sanding.... now that im basically done, i figure id see if there's any interest in me making up a batch of these and sell em in a group buy keep in mind, i cant make a mold and pop out copys like the DCW pods. these would all be custom, so i need a core deposit... and im just gauging interest with this thread, its a real pain in the ass to make so its gotta be worth my time if i do goahead with a group buy -------------------- |

haha sanding is a PITA!
Nice work with the side gauge mount mate, looks good. And DEATH, looking at it theres no reason why the hole couldn't still be there, plenty of room. I have removed the hole on mine and put my switch in one of the small covers that are just below the steering wheel, got my Aerial switch and my foglight switch under there at the moment. hmm, need to buy more fibreglassing resin, been ages since I made anything! |
