Just put a 3" bore exhaust system on my st205 with a 4.5" tail pipe. Was in 2 minds about getting the 3" because obviously you get boost creep (You can tell mine is getting it) and ive read some people have had problems with bad rattling. I got under the car and checked clearances from the standard exhaust to the sub frames and to be honest everything seemed fine. The back box was a bit of a problem because you need a lift as i needed to angle the exhaust towards the ground but with jacks you just could not get the car high enough to get the space to do it. Anyway it is on now and all is good, to be honest when you're in the cabin it is not as loud as i thought it would be so not too many headaches, you also get one or two nice pops as revs come back down towards idle. I haven't given it a good full power going over as my knock sensor is broke so don't plan to drive offensively until i get another one. So all in all i would recommended the 3" system, good sound and no rattles. Probably gonna have to go drill a bigger hole in my wastegate now.

I ran mine with a straight pipe and no muffler, just a high cat. Well after a day of going deaf I decided it was best to get a quiet flowmaster. 40 Series aren't too bad im just sick of those fart cannons.

Did you have problems getting the standard exhaust off? i ended up cutting mine off in 2 places, really couldn't be bothered dropping the sub frame. Mine was a straight pipe pretty much cause i couldn't get the back box on without a lift, that was loud as hell felt like the sound vibrations were damaging the car everytime i put my foot down. What bhp is the ST?

It was a 4age 20V. I just cut mine off, since I had a magnaflow before and had it done at the muffler shop.
