Hello, sorry if this has been asked before but I really need some help with this. I've had a whine for about 2 - 3 months now but just recently it began to be really loud, as I accelerate theres a loud whine that increases with RPM's. Do you guys have any suggestions on what this could be? Thanks for any help in advance!

- Also it happens all the time not just when the car is cold.

belts can whine when loose, especially timing belts. they flap and shake at high frequency creating the noise.

but i'll agree that its probably a bad bearing somewhere on an accessory or tensioner.

Every timing belt ive ever had come into the dealership that was loose was rattling because they hit the timing cover. The timing belt will whine when it is too tight because it puts excessive stress on the idler and tensioner pulleys.

Trust me, I do this every day
