The fabric at the top of my door cards was fraying and falling away, so I pulled them off and dismantled as much as I could.

From the back you can see where to undo the door handle.

From the front you can see that the material can have some overlap here.

I peeled off the old fabric and used it as a pattern on some cheap faux suede fabric I bought for NZ$6. I needed roughly 700 x 300mm to have plenty of overlap (I think actual dimensions were 650x220mm). The fabric was 1400mm wide so I only needed a 300mm strip of it.

Checking that the fabric fitted and tucked in correctly.

While holding it in place I folded half over so I could glue the center and work my way to the edges. I used some cheapo spray adhesive that dried too quickly, If I were to do it again I think 3M Spray 77 is the stuff to use. I used a flat head screw driver to work in the edges.

Had the same problem, held up fine in Maryland, got down to TX though and the glue just slopped off. Just replaced the door cards with ones that dont have fabric glued to them. Much happier now.
