i recently ran into a problem with my stereo (the deh-6900ub, by pioneer). first off i need to say that i wired it into the fuses. i did this over a year ago and suddenly it reset on me every time the car i turned off and the circuit is broken. i have the acc tapped into the 15a stop fuse, or maybe the ecu... i forget, but both of these are a circuit that remains unbroken when the car is turned off. my 12v yellow power wire is tapped into the cig/radio 15a fuse. the problem is that every time the car is turned off and the electrical circuit is broken all of my settings are lost. i even ran a new wire to connect the acc with. can anyone figure this issue out?

Were you not aware that you could have just used the output harness of the amp? From what you are describing, your 12 volt constant wire is the problem, it's what retains your settings. If you have chopped up your radio wiring too much, just go to the main ignition harness for 12V constant and Accessory.
Edit: I just reread your post and you have your wires backwards. Yellow needs a constant power source. Red/Accessory needs a source that gets power when the key is turned to the accessory position. Again, if you have mutilated your OEM radio wiring, go to the main ignition harness. This post has been edited by gt_driFFter: Feb 18, 2009 - 11:00 PM |
