ive posted about this before. My car has high idle, roughly 2000 rpm. read about all this in the forums and came to the comclusion it was my IAC. got my IAC replaced the othyer day, no diffrence.
found the vaccum diagram for the 5s and checked mine out. everyhting was good. except for the PS assist valve. the "nipple" type things were semi broken on that. now im ok with engines, not a complete expert but i can do pretty good. i dont know what else could make my idle as high as it is, could timing, belt tension, advanced or retarded ignition timing have any effect on this? i just want my car to opperate as it should. im only a teen so i dont have too much money to play with, but any experience & help towards my problem is greatly appriciated. |

when i put my motor in they snapped off and i fixed it then but i guess it didnt hold for long. but i dont know if that was the problem because my idle has always been kind of high.
i was just going to get a new one but i had to get it from toyota because parts store dont have it and junk yards dont have any celis around here. if i remember correctly they were like $100. so i can just "plug" the lines till i can fix the PS valve? |
