So, I'm finally starting to spend some money on my car and first up is springs & shocks. Need some opinions from you wise ones out there. Do you have a preference between Tein S-techs vs SpringTech?? What's your experience??

Thanks all!

greetings from another "mature" 6gc owner.

last spring i put Tein S-tech springs and KYB GR2 struts, i also went with a 17" replacement wheel and 215/40 tyres. what a difference it made. although the ride is a little stiffer and the car a little lower, i feel better contact with the road. i feel more confident in turns. your profile says you were looking for a "fun" car, something you drive for sheer pleasure. these are not powerful vehicles but they sure are fun to throw around a windy road. making these changes to your suspension will definitely increase your driving pleasure, regardless of which setup you choose.

PS we should start a 40+ club in the 6gc. laugh.gif

Yeah! Who says kids get to have all the fun!
I just ordered new wheels for car, new shocks(KYB GR2), still deciding which springs(I'll prolly go with Tein), and need to decide which tires. I got 17's and plan on 225/45 for tires. I'm a chick, I need a little cushion for the tushie....

Now here's the thing I cannot figure out. I have 2 '98's. A Convertible, AT and Hatchback, 5 sp. Why am I getting better gas mileage with the AT Conv than I am in the 5 sp Hatch??

Thanks!!
Amy
