Since I'm a cheap SOB, I'd like to know if I'm getting the right stuff before I buy. I'm looking to go 720p for my PS3, connecting to the TV with an HDMI cable and to the 7.1 surround with a digital optical audio cable, if that's the right one. I'm going generic, and as far as I know there's no special version of an HDMI cable necessary?

And one of these for the surround part? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16882339059 Thanks people. |

Cables don't have a capability, they're just cables.
Don't know why your PS3 thinks your TV can do 1080p, the TV probably is downconverting it to 1080i. When you plug it in it should automatically read the highest possible resolution - and then display that. This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Mar 12, 2009 - 8:14 AM -------------------- |
