Hello, I'm owner of one Celica with 7A-FE engine, and I got a problem that it is drinking very much oil. I have heard that this is a widespread problem with this engine when it has passed over 100.000km (at least in Norway). The problem is that the parts are very expensive to buy, and I wonder if someone could tip some stores that are selling new parts for my car, and that send to Norway. I'm not 100% sure what it is called in English, but I think it is "Piston rings" and "Valve" if i have translated it correct (please correct me if wrong). It is at least those parts that are very high chance that is causing not normal consumption of oil. The parts are not big, but it takes very much work to get it changed. Hope you guys can help me and my celica baby

A North American Celica did not come with the 3SGE after 1989.
The 3SGTE (turbo) engine was not available in North America after 1993 for Celicas. The 7AFE, and 5SFE were used in North American Celicas from 1994 to 1999. The 5SFE was only used in North American Celicas, however. The 3SGE and 7AFE were used worldwide. If you obtain a 1994-1999 Celica from the USA, it will be equipped with a 7AFE or 5SFE. Using the 5SFE in a Celica equipped with a 7AFE would require extra work (engine mounts, rewiring, some accessories). Same with using a 3SGE from a European, Australian or Japanese Celica. |
