well looking back at this http://www.6gc.net/howto/build_st_cold_air_intake, it just seems like piping is too long and it will take forever for air to go from filter and back inside of intake.
as apposed to having an intake built inside of the stock air box with the K&N filter. it would be the same thing right. still cold air and even better than having it sit under the batter and radiator resevor. judging by the way this piping looks like. i know there is a little opening under the batter and radiator resevor that goes inside your fender. does the filter end up inside the driver side fender? So does anybody have pics of the CAI intake set-up for the how-to make your own cai for st. the how to cai on the forums looks similar to the chrome intakes set-up on ebay that cost around $120.
