Just thought I'd pass on a message from my brother's wife

QUOTE
I'm meant to be getting my R34 tuned on the 4th of March. Unfortunately no one here wants to touch it because it has a 500hp in-tank Walbro fuel pump. Apparently these pumps are poo when it comes to tuning your car to a higher psi (I'm getting mine tuned to 18psi).

The pump cant keep up with the fuel pressure regulator and makes the car lean out. This hasn't happened on mine yet, but I've been given a specific example of an Evo 3 which split a piston while on the Dyno.

Hence, no one wants to tune my car with this fuel pump in it. I've been told that it is fine for N/A cars. So I'm putting it into my R33.

I've been told to go for Sard or Bosch (preferably Bosch), so I might try the Bosch 044 pump. So, if you have one of these Walbro pumps in and you have been having trouble then it might pay to try a different pump.
