Hello,
I just put a new timing belt on because my last one ( a few months old) shredded.
It now looks like my new one is doing the same. It looks like it is rubbing against the block and badly against pump. I made sure to try and center it on the pully's when I installed both of them.

Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks

I've seen this happen once before on a 3SGTE. There is a thick washer behind the tensioner pulley (between the pulley and the block) that was misplaced. Without it there, the belt kept pulling in towards the engine and shredding itself.
