cleaned my throttle body today now have a few questions Options

I have two questions today. I took my throttle body off and cleaned it. When i took it off i was a bit surprised by what i saw. I saw that the intake manifold was black on the inside with what would appear to be dirt and grime or something that looked like that. my question is the 7afe suppose to be like that or not? when i looked at the throttle body one side was dirty and the other side was how i expected to find it.

My other question that when cleaning the throttle body, the spring that makes the throttle plate reclose I took it off. When i started driving the car like that cuz i forgot to but it back on, I noticed that the car accelerated faster than it normally does. I think it is cuz when i moved that spring position lower it puts less tension on the spring so it can open and close faster. But I wanted to know if I drive it like that will i damage anything?

The PCV and the valve cover breather hose do dump back into the intake and they can carry with them oil and whatnot, causing your intake plenum to get all drity and grimy. I cleaned mine recently and it was also quite black on the inside.
