the bumper cover is the plastic part, the actual bumper is the metal piece behind the plastic piece and the foam... and yes a 96+ bumper "cover" will fit your '94. the gt-4 bumper will fit any 6gc as well, but the crash bar needs to be deleted.

I hit a deer and took out my right high beamand made a gap between the bumper and hood. -------------------- God made man....
