I'm still not sure which HID kit to buy, H4, OR H1. According to everything that I have read, the stock bulb in a JDM projector is an H1 bulb BUT the HID kit or connector we are supposed to buy to make it work is an H4???? GMGcQ
here is a picture of my JDM projector right out of the box: ![]() this is the bulb that came out of it: ![]() this is what it looks like without the bulb: ![]() This post has been edited by erahman85: Apr 11, 2010 - 2:25 PM |

if you are buying HIDS - get h1... that is all you need... all HID kits can hook right up to the 9006 harness
if you are keeping halogens - get an h4 harness... you need it to plug into the bulb and splice into the 9006 harness the end the bulb is an h1 bulb with a hybrid two prong harness... -------------------- Breaking Axles...

H1 is clearly different from 9006 in terms of looks and connectors. I made a 9006 to h1/h4 adapter. I guess he is talking about rigging it. only thing that is the same with HIDs is the ballast - the concern is the bulb. the h1 two prong and the 9006 harness is not a perfect mate. ANTI-RIGGER/ANTI-SPLICER. This post has been edited by trdproven: Apr 24, 2009 - 7:42 PM -------------------- 94 Celica GT

ANTI-RIGGER/ANTI-SPLICER. Exactly. You can run female connectors from the bulb; the other end of the wires can have male connectors to plug into the H1 socket that you've spliced (or however you've added) onto the 9006 harness - obviously make sure you match + to + and - to - -------------------- ![]() |
