I have a bunch of questions about my 94 celica st (usa) I got thursday.
Well, first off.. The little red switch next to the fuse box, what the hell is it? Fog lights? The bottom part of my front bumper is busted off so i wouldn't know(anyone know where to find a good cheap new front bumper? ) My car has a aftermarket sony cd player, it seems like it got a new wiring harness? but the wires were cut then tied back together and electrical taped back on, could I just get a new harness? (know of a link?) because when the cd player moves around sometimes some speakers stop working lol. Randomly the lights in the car will dim...uh why? lol... My horn does not work, I checked 1 fuse under the hood and it was ok, have not checked the other, but I did fallow the horn wires all the way to the steering wheel and they appeared not to be ****ed with, although for some reason they were loose all the way there. How are gauge pods hooked up? I have manual locks + windows, could I possibly get the different door parts and all that and make it power? (obviously costly), but it'd work, right? oh, on the cluster, the speedometer likes to pretty much bounce everywhere whenever it wants, cept when the gas peddle is not being pressed. red switch next to the fuse box... sounds aftermarket. Maybe valet switch for an alarm.
for your cd player i would take your wiring harness and redo all the connections, and examine all the pins in the connectors. randomly dimming lights... could be battery, alternator, grounds, etc. for the horn, I'd test at the horn with a multimeter, if you get a signal when the horn is depressed then the horn is bad. No signal and theres a problem in the circuit you will have to find. Gauge pods have either mechanical or electronic gauges. Mechanical gauges have a t in a line and have a vacuum line or and oil line running into the cabin to the gauges. electronic gauges have a sending unit that is in the engine bay and sends the signal to the gauge via wires. might be a bad speedo sensor? thats the only thing i can think of switch to power windows/locks... has been done a few times, yes its costly and involves lots of research and wiring diagrams. -------------------- |
