Hi guys

My MOT runs out on fri frown.gif (yearly inspection in the UK) , i knew the brakes needed done so bought front and rear discs and pads, now the brakes were working fine but after replacing them last night they are now poo, they feel a tad spongy and when i got back from the test drive both fronts were smoking.

Below are pictures of the inside of the old discs, as you can see they are a tad rusty where they shouldn't be , is this a sign of seized pistons?? the sliders were all free and the pistons did go back in all be it not so easy (only had a screw driver).

drivers front

passenger front

all 4

this is how the new disks, as you can see the rears arent doing much and the 1 front discs is still score free near the hub

ns rear

os rear

os front

can i really have 4 seized callipers?? they worked fine before i changed the discs

or could it be that i haven't pushed the pistons on the callipers back far enough, if so what size of g clamp do i need to buy??

the front pads all had 2 anti squeal pads each and the rear had 1 per pad, my last celica never had any and never squealed.

im just a tad stumped as i did this with my last celica (a few times) without any trouble..

so HELP lol

having a bit of a look about im starting to think iv been sent the wrong rear discs, there is 2 discs for the gen 6 , pre facelift >08/95 and facelift 08/95> , i bought them from buypartsby and phoned them to make sure i had added the right discs to the order, the guy confirmed i had, the parts number is J3312032 08/95> so 95 onwards, now looking at japarts.co.uk they have that part number as >08/95 prefacelift , from what i can gather the only difference is that the disc is 1mm thinner, 9mm instead of 10mm for the prefacelift.

has anyone got access to the nipparts parts catalogue?? been looking for it online but not having any luck.
