Guys,
two questions really. As said in a previous post I was thinking about installing a turbo on my celica. I have a 3S-GE engine, and others here stated that should be possible if it is a healthy engine. However, I understood that there are different types of 3S-GE engines around, so I was wondering how can I find out what mine is without disassembling half the engine and comparing ports etc.? Will the version be printed/stamped somewhere, and if so, where would I find that? Also, I was wondering if I could use a CT26 turbo. I spotted one on ebay, new, and for a decent price (currently halfway through bidding though). are there any other turbo types I could use? |

Managed to take a pic of my engine. based on the exhaust manifold, I doubt it is a rev 3 3S-GE engine:
![]() As you can see it has only 6 bolts, rather than the 8 bolt configuration seen on Rev3 engines. Does this mean my car has a rev 2 engine? If you closely, you can see the head does have an area that would allow a hole to be drilled for the additional bolts (It's just right of the heat shield fixture hole). However, considering the other holes are there I was wondering if I could still fit a rev3 exhaust manifold and turbo charge the engine. What do you guys think?
