one day after i get a ticket for doing 51 in a 35 on a deserted road, i decide to take my celi for a weekly spin, and meet up with some friends. as we are leaving, an officer pulls behind me and flashes me. asks for the usual info and says that he's writing me up for obstruction of view. I ask where and he says the vinyl on my back window and the items hanging from my rear view.... he gives me the ticket and says remove it, and then sits there and waits for me to take the animal down, so im like do you want me to take the vinyl off too?
Im confused, i can understand my stuffed animal from my rear view, and MAYBE the sticker on my back window... but he never said anything about my tint? i better count my blessings then i guess. north carolina north carolina... *sigh* -------------------- |

I've heard of guys getting tagged for rear window obstruction due to their spoiler -- in one case, the stock spoiler on a WRX.
As Tweak noted, mirrors on both sides of the car make an acceptable substitute to a rear window. Check your local laws, and if you do decide to fight it, make sure to take a photo of the car showing the licence plate and both outside mirrors.
