Im getting my turbo from a company called HyperGear over here in Australia. So while their not genuine GT series they are the equivalent to the specs just no Ball bearing.
The turbos a sleeve bearing and i can choose whether i want to run water and oil OR just oil. Im thinking just oil. Like yourself, ill eventually switch to MR2 tranny but mean time ill stick with stock gt. I think ill go gt2871 because they already spool great on mr2oc.com guys cars + .2 capacity would be pretty good torque curve. But i dont know about upper rev range, eg. FE head. This is somehting i havent really researched yet but i cannot see the FE head being an extreme limitation. I want the car to make about 220-240FWKW which the GT2871 could make however, it would be on its upper limits, whereas GT3071 could make 280FWKW but means increase lag, etc... but thats just too much power. As mentioned, the car will be used on weekends with some track time: stripped interior, full suspension setup etc... I just think ill got GT2871 and if the time comes that i need more power then ill go GT3071... This post has been edited by NGHTKD: May 28, 2009 - 2:15 AM |
