I've seen a few post with some details for this swap, but not specific enough to give me a direct answer.
I know a few have successfully done this swap and now its my turn to ask for help. I have a 98 Manual GT and wanted to know if there are any parts or anything I need to look out for when doing this swap. I will be picking up this Beams next Monday. The harness, ecu, air flow meter, header, shifter, fuel pump, axles, and tranny are included in this set. Does the harness need to be rewired to work or is it just plug and play? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

QUOTE Hmm torqueing down stuff -- I use air tools, so not really following any torqueing specs - I probably should, but just going by feel and as long as nothing breaks. Bad idea my friend. I can see where this is going. -------------------- QUOTE Surprise buttsecks always works fine for me. 1994 Toyota Celica ST 1977 Harley Sportser XLH 1992 Ford F-350 (plow truck) |

I can see where this is going. Yeah I understand your concern, but this is not my first, 2nd or 3rd, engine rebuild, but my first engine swap. Never had a problem with all the rebuilds that I've done. I can honestly tell you that not even the best of the best torque everything down to factory specs when working on a vehicle. And I'm sure even mechanics at dealerships don't with every single nut and bolt. I'm no pro, but after working on engines for a while you just kind of get the feel for it. Hope I didn't offend any one with my comments. |
