Im not sure if this is in the right section but I thought I would put it in here.
I was driving my 1995 gts today, and i noticed that in 3rd 4th and 5th, that if i put it right to the floor, my rpm rises really quickly from 2000 to about 3500 rpm, but the speed is not going as fast as the rpm. the rpm will hit 3500 and then drop back down to 3000 and stay at 3000 while the speed increses. It does this in 3rd 4th and 5th, but not 1st or 2nd. I cleaned my engine today with degreaser and then rinsed it off with a hose but only trickled it lightly and was careful at what i got wet. Now Im not sure if a sensor just got wet or if this is something really serious. This was the first time driving my car after i cleaned the engine so it could have just been a wet sensor. It was been about 3 or 4 hours since i washed it and i currently have my battery disconected to reset everything in the car, and I am waiting a few minutes before I take it for a ride. If you know anything about what this could be, or what i could do to fix it that would be really helpful and I would appreciate any help. wait sometime, maybe your clutch caught some oil/grease on it and will stop to slip in a time, mine did exactly that.... Don't make it slip for one or two weeks.
and cleaning of the engine bay must be a dry cleaning |
