Hello!

I am interrested to learn how to jack up my car the proper way. I have a car jack as pictured below:

The thing is, i have jacked up my car many times. But I have always been scared to do it a unproper way, which could cause my car dropping off the jack. That must do a great damage to the body?

For example, when I lift my car with this kind of jack, I can hear the car is slipping from the jack, as I am jacking it up. Jesus, I am too scared to do this! tongue.gif

So, what do you guys do? The places where you place the jack underneath the car is a bit dumb on Toyota...

the pic below is where you would place your jack on a gt4, but it's the same even for non-gt4's except the rear subframe is different from the awd.

this is for a hoist that lifts from the center

this is for a hoist that lifts from the left and right side

yeah you can place your jack stands on the notches, but another safe location is on the bolts of the front subframe where it meets the lower control arms.
