1600$+ for the engine, 600-800 in shipping (unless you find locally) looking at 1500 in labour/parts then actualy getting it to run properly.
But i advise avoiding those back alley shops that promise they will do it for half the other guy |

I guess I just assumed the OP would be doing the swap at home. I can afford to do it then (since the BEAMS is what I'm aiming to get whenever the 5sfe dies). For 8k you could pick up a used WRX, a very used S2000, good condition Miata or an older one and turbocharge it, older Vette, vtec Prelude if you're want to look like every other Honda guy lol. Or for 8k go buy a brand new Yamaha r6...which is tempting lol Don't get me wrong, I love the Celica and definitely appreciate how rare they are, but there's a limit to what I'll dump into it, because even with a $3k motor, it's still a sub 200hp FF driveline with a strut suspension and poor weight distribution. I didn't even pay $3k for my 99 GT. This post has been edited by blu94gt: Jun 4, 2009 - 10:37 PM -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

Not to mention the power to weight ratio is about the same since the Supra is heavier to begin with, and the Celica gets an AWD launch. I'd like to see where I can get a street legal GT4 into the United States for 7-8k, after taxes, tariffs, etc. If all it took was 7-8k I would have bought one long ago. PS nothing wrong with Miatas or Preludes, I've owned both, can vouch that either would outperform the Celica on any track (stock vs stock) and would gladly own either again. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT
