Hey i jsut had some work done on my car by toyota (boo me, me and dad didnt feel like tackling it)
It had a large oil leak and they said it was at the oil pump. They also checked the timing belt to make sure it hadnt got oil on it. Drove my car home and everything is fine. Later that night i am driving and it had a strange whirring noise. Its coming from the timing belt side of the engine, and it increases when my rpms do. The engine runs great like before and drives like it always did. Just with a noticeable noise. we loosed the serpentine belts some and that didnt help... I was thinking maybe the power steering belt, i have checked it yet. I just hope its nothing to do with the timing belt that was a big job (for me and dad at least) so what could it be? what could i check? if you had a leaking oil pump, and they did not replace the belt, i would take it back and demand they do so.
for free. the belt has to come off to do the pump, and for 30$ i wouldnt take the chance of even a drop of oil getting on the belt. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
