Hey guys I just have a quick question. I've just done a fresh oil change about 2 weeks ago and since then when my car is cold just for a second or two max when I start it up my check oil light is on and I can hear a slight knock underneath the hood.
I've consistently checked my oil since the change hot and cold engine and its around the middle to the dip stick of not a bit higher. I've checked for any leaks on my filter and nut on the pan but they're both good.

Thanks in advance! I'm off to work so it will be a while for my responses.

Whenever I start mine up first thing, the oil light comes on for a sec or 2 (just like you said) and then it turns off. Also, I see the same thing happening with my mechanical oil pressure gauge as well. When I turn it on, a sec or 2 passes and then the oil press needle raises up to 60 psi. I don't have any other oil related issues, in fact my celica runs very strong.

I think it's normal. I'm curious now to see what other members write on this?

That is normal, the knocking is not. Rod bearings are worn and probably need replaced -- just my .02
--any chance you could record the sound for us?
