I've been searching for a 22re 4x4 in my price range with no luck. I did however stumble upon a V6 4x4 for a mere 2500. The owner is a friend of a friend so I don't expect anything shady.
The head gasket was replaced post 100k and it currently has 180k. There's some slight corrosion on the front underneath, it's been to the beach dunes a couple times. I smelled oil burning after test-driving, and it wasn't coming from the tailpipe. The body is in very good shape, no rust and little tiny dents. The truck ran excellent and the clutch is brand new and felt great. The tires are brand new 33 bfg's. The interior is in very good shape as well. I plan on getting a compression test done soon, if it passes should I pull the trigger? Don't know much about the 3.slow except it's headgasket problem. |

If he has proof that he has done the work than you should be fine. The 22re is one tuff engine and their simple to work on. They even made a 22ret! So you can buy a factory turbo setup.
There are tons of ways to gain hp from the 22re -------------------- ![]() |
