I've still been having a few problems keeping IC piping clamped at high boost levels so I took this 6" long injen coupling I've had laying around for years and used it to hit the main problem area which was the Turbo outlet/hot pipe connection. I slipped it over the 5 ply expensive coupling I had on there and clamped it in 3 places:
So this has fixed that problem rather nicely and I previously fixed all other connections in a similar fashion with the exception of the one on the cold pipe immediately to the right in the pics above. The good 5 ply coupling that I have there is simply too short [3"] to clamp in anymore than 2 spots and so now it's the one that blows off. So here is what I'm looking for: I need a Injen brand Red coupling with a 3" diameter [2.75" minimum inside diameter] and a minimum of 4" long but ideally a 6" long coupling would do the trick quite nicely. This will allow me enough room to slip it over the high dollar coupling I have on there and then apply 2 clamps to each side [one for the injen the other over the injen to clamp the expensive coupling underneath]. It would totally be cake if it had the Injen Logo on it like the one shown as these are the first thing you see through the hood vent before I pop the hood and obviously appearance means alot to me. If anyone has one laying around or is willing to trade out their existing coupling for another brand +$$$ please hit me up. It is but I'm using a much smaller diameter coupling as the primary seal
The injen coupling is a secondary seal [Remember that unlike the 3rd gen 3s-gte and newer - the 2nd gen is AFM based and will not run without a sealed vacuum on all intake lines - this is designed to get me home in the case of a loss of primary seal] Works great on the spots I have done this way This post has been edited by DEATH: Jul 8, 2009 - 10:32 AM -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.
