I've never knew our cars have syncro. I bought the car used, tried down shift and it grinded. I've been double clutching during down shift ever since....

So just right now couple minutes ago, 4~5 years after I got the car, I found out our cars have syncro, so I'm guessing mine is crapped up since I couldn't down shift without double clutching?

Does it cost a lot to fix? Is it just an electronic/mechanical piece I have to change out? Can I umm... keep double clutching and just ignore it?

Thanks for your help!

yes i have a problem exactly like yours but only when im downshifting from 3rd to 2nd going about 40mph. Try matching your revs to the gears. it will help a little bit. 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th are working great.

My bro has a 5sfe 5 speed camry and his syncros are even screwed up. he just need a tranny drain and refill.

I changed out the clutch with my friend so taking out the tranny isnt too difficult. so i if i take my tranny to a shop, how much would they charge to change syncros??

i heard a tranny rebuild cost around $250, if thats even correct

tomaz you coming the the so cal meet???
