decided to turbo my car Options

Well ive been buying turbo parts for awhile now and I finally decided to put them to use. The install went pretty smooth and everything is done except for the gauges and the intercooler piping. I do have a few questions though, im not sure if the direction of the turbo coolant lines matters as far as inlet and outlet, and also the car produces quite a bit of whiteish smoke which wasnt present before the turbo install, but im not sure if this is due to the lack of intercooler piping.

was the turbo new or used

if used could be the seals in the turbo
or the pressure from the turbo is blowing oil past your seal/valves in the head
did you do a leak down test b4 turboing your car
