i am looking in to lowering my car. i have decided on springs not coilovers and my question is can i install lowering springs without putting in new shocks. if yes do i need aftermarket shocks or will factory shocks suffice?

I dunno if kybs are OEM because I've had both and they are not the same. looks and size. I measured inside out a toyota strut mount and kyb and they are totally different, in fact they are thicker. When I put one KYB mount only in one side it raised one fender significantly higher. I used a tape measure and indeed they are different. Perhaps there is a chance that KYB is making the new ones as OEM because Toyota's new strut mounts look like KYB but for sure the original toyota mounts are indeed totally different from KYB mounts. They are OEM replacements thats for sure but thats the same as saying aftermarket.
