okay... my computer got infected with this spyware and its really f-ing me up. i can't get rid of it with my yahoo anti-spy. and the spyware keeps advertising this antispy program that'll get rid of it. but of course its gonna cost an arm and a leg for me to buy their program that'll get rid of their own spyware. everytime i try to do a system restore... it says, "system restore has been turned off by group policy. to turn on system restore, contact your domain administrator." i tried system restore in safe mode but it still won't let me. help me please.

It's funny, I just actually got a virus not 2 hours ago that did the same thing. Although, disabling System Restore is a common things for viruses to do.
Try this: 1. Click Start, Run and type GPEDIT.MSC 2. Navigate to this path: -> Computer Configuration --> Administrative Templates ---> System ----> System Restore 3. Set Turn off System Restore to Not Configured 4. Set Turn off Configuration to Not Configured Then try running System Restore. If that doesn't work, try downloading something like Spybot Search and Destory and running that, or AVG. Here is a direct link to download Spybot. http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=...bb55f7d04046a3f |
