A cousin of mine has a 4e-fte gt starlet that used to be automatic with ECT-S.got some info 4rm him on how to use the manual mode from standstill.
1) engage manual mode, turn off overdrive switch and shift the gear to low(L). 2) takeoff and pay attention to the rpm meter.as soon as you think the max rev you want has been reached, shift the gear to 2. 3) do the same for gear 2(pay attention to the rpm meter.as soon as you think the max rev you want has been reached, shift the gear to D). 4) when you've put the gear to D,quickly turn off the manual mode, turn on overdrive and the ECT-S PWR switch. NOTE:im not sure this method will work on all ECT-S gearbox as i've gathered that this is the concept used on the dogbox gearbox(i dont even know what that is).but i have tried to toggle my gear from L to D and it happens effortlessly(without braking)so i think it just may be possible to do so. Anyone have any info on this??anyone ever tried doing this????well,im kinda scared to try it out on my ride...... |

dog box term doesn't apply to automatic gearboxes.
